  • lib50, this bill would allow for federal subsidies to be used to purchase health insurance policies that cover abortions, therefore federal subsidies would be funding the payment of abortions. That, in and of itself, is in violation of the Hyde amendment.

  • Actually, all this flip-flopping by Stupak means is that his vote is on the open market to be bought. There is nothing they can do now to change the language regarding abortion in the bill, that is policy related and has no budget implications, therefore it cannot be addressed in reconciliation.
